DC's 'Earth One' OGNs To Cast Off The Shackles Of Continuity For New Readers

One of the complaints I've had about DC comics is that it's mythology is highly convoluted. It's complicated by time-travel, multiple universes, parallel universes and every hackneyed plot contrivances of every shape and description. Be honest..you love it but it's frustrating to keep it all straight. So what does DC do to simplify things for new readers and and to keep their characters fresh? Why reboot the whole thing and chuck everything that has gone on before! No one remembers. As far as everyone in the DC Universe is concerned things happened differently. Of course this time, DC ios doing it right. They are releasing graphic novels based on main characters giving an introduction to their new world. They are starting with Batman and Superman. I wonder how far back does this reboot go? I mean is Superman still married? Do Batman and Talia still have Damien for a son? Is Tim Drake still Robin?
