Infinity Blade Developers Talk Android – Piracy Concerns Prevent Android Development

I've been hearing a lot of great things about Infinity Blade for IOS devices. I wanna play it! The problem is that I don't have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. All I have is Android and if the following article is true, it won't be coming to Android. If Infinity Blade is not ported to Android then I have a feeling that Batman: Arkham City Lockdown won't either. Real disappointing.

Marvel Goes Day and Date Digital... If You Pay (More) For It - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

I've been expecting this. A Marvel comic book coming out digitally on the same day as the print version. Invincible Iron Man Annual #1 is the first time Marvel is trying this. Unfortunately the print version will cost less than the digital version. I don't really understand why. Maybe Marvel is purposely trying to make people buy the print version to save money. It costs less to distribute a comic book digitally than it does by print, so I just don't see why we should pay more for the digital version. It is a moot point for me because I don't have a an iPad or iPod Touch. I'm sure DC will be pulling a similar move soon.

PixelMags digital publishers for the iphone

Pixelmag is not just an application for reading digital comics and magazines on mobile devices. It also allows you to make the content and distribute it using a PDF file as your base. It seems really cool. As a software developer, I would love to get into using such technology. This means getting an iPhone and the other stuff for testing and using it.

Marvel iPad App Preview Video; Boing Boing Slams Comics DRM - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

I've been following the Marvel's digital comics apps and I was pleased to find the following post from Comics Alliance about how the Marvel stuff is going to work for iPad, iPhone, and iPod. You will buy individual issues for $1.99 like for the PSP store. However they will only be available on Apple products. I would like it were open with no DRM and I agree with the quote from the article.

I mean, look at that Marvel app (just look at it). I was a comic-book kid, and I'm a comic-book grownup, and the thing that made comics for me was sharing them. If there was ever a medium that relied on kids swapping their purchases around to build an audience, it was comics. And the used market for comics! It was -- and is -- huge, and vital. I can't even count how many times I've gone spelunking in the used comic-bins at a great and musty store to find back issues that I'd missed, or sample new titles on the cheap. (It's part of a multigenerational tradition in my family -- my mom's father used to take her and her sibs down to Dragon Lady Comics on Queen Street in Toronto every weekend to swap their old comics for credit and get new ones).
So what does Marvel do to "enhance" its comics? They take away the right to give, sell or loan your comics. What an improvement. Way to take the joyous, marvellous sharing and bonding experience of comic reading and turn it into a passive, lonely undertaking that isolates, rather than unites. Nice one, Misney.

I think a subscription model would work better with sharing options among the apple mobile devices, PSPs, and personal computers where subscribers can read any comic in the library.

Get Marvel Digital Comics! YOUR Choice How!

Marvel ComicsImage via Wikipedia
I'd like to get back into regularly collecting comic books and I think the Digital Comic book subscription service should be the most economic way to collect Marvel Comics. I'm also thinking that reading comics on my PSP and iPod/Touch (when I get one)  is very, very attractive!
