Detroit Needs a RoboCop Statue Honoring America's Greatest Fictional Cyborg Lawman - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

There is a movement to get a Robocop statue erected in Detroit. I think that Comics Alliance stated the reason really well.

But it's only going to get there if people donate, so if you want to see an awesome tribute to the idea that humanity, individuality and justice can overcome crass consumerism and corporate crime, check out DetroitNeedsRoboCop.com to help out with a donation.

Blogger Buzz: Discover Your Blog's Community with OneTrueFan

OneTrueFan has been added to my blog. I added because I would love to be able to get more feedback from people who visit and read my blog. I appreciate everyone who stops by even those who disagree with me and the things I believe. This is why I have an open policy for those who comment. You can say anything you want and interact as you see fit. I've implemented OneTrue fan because it allows even more reader interaction. IF you look at the bottom of the browser as you scroll down you'll see a window that allows people to join the service for free and share the links that they have shared from the blog.

Readers earn points for coming to your site each day, reading content, sharing links and driving traffic to your site. The ten readers with the most points show up in a leaderboard, but those points only last for 14 days. Readers need to keep coming back because fanship is an ongoing process.

I think what I would like to do sometime in 2011 is offer prizes to readers in the reader board. I'll make an announcement when I know more information. Please feel free to follow the link below to learn more about the OneTrueFan service. Maybe you might like to add the service to your own blog(s).

Rob Liefeld Blasts Fox on Twitter Over Deadpool Movie - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

Turns out that the creator of Deadpool, Rob Liefeld, is tired of Fox Studios not getting the Deadpool movie on track. I don't blame him. Turns out that he has some choices words he twittered.

Here is the reports from Comics Alliance

The Best Graphic.ly Reader Comments on Comics - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

Graphic.ly Reader is pretty cool. I haven't had a chance to actually use it to read a comic but it does connect directly to Facebook and Twitter. It also has the ability to make comments and annotations directly onto the comics and allow others to read them. As this article from Comics Alliance points out many of them are extremely funny. Like the comments on page 4 of Wanted #1

DC/Marvel Universe: Batman's Tweets

These are real funny tweets than Batman might send!

Hey Pattinson, lessons on real brooding: 1. Comb your hair down, you look retarded. 2. Watch your parents get murdered. 3. Get a cape.
Hey iPhone developers. Can we get crackin on the "Solving Lame Riddles" app already? Thaaaaanks.
I believe in Harvey Dent. I believe he's a crappier villain than he was a D.A. And that's saying something.
Batman by Jim LeeWatch out criminal scum, I'm trying to kick caffeine again. And we all remembered what happened last time, don't we? DON'T WE!!!
Yeah, my parents are dead. What's that you were saying about hating Mondays?
You know what gives crime a concussion at 127 decibels? A Vuvuzela batarang. Sometimes bat-gadgets just invent themselves.
I brush my teeth with JUSTICE and floss with PAIN.
We'll miss you, Jack Bauer. If you ever come out of exile, I've got a pair of green ankle shoes and a yellow cape waiting.
I am Vengeance. I am the Night. I am mildly lactose intolerant.
One year ago today Michael Jackson died. In memory, I listened to "Thriller" while breaking a pedophile's legs. Rest in Peace, Jacko.
What do I call my iPhone? The BATiPhone? The iBatPhone? These are the things that keep me up at night. Well that and the face punching.
Memorial Day. Thinking about barbecuing on the beach. Alone. At night. Using nightvision. I'm awesome.
For the last time Alfred, they're NOT TIGHTS! They're DUAL DENSITY CARBON-FIBER LEGGINGS! And yes, please have them washed.

Finally destroyed Robin's iPod. It's impossible to brood when Justin Bieber is blasting in the upstairs guest room.

Blog@Newsarama » Blog Archive » Johns and Fraction Want a GREEN LANTERN/IRON MAN Crossover

I just heard that Geoff Johns and Matt Fraction carried on conversation in Twitter  about what a crossover with Iron Man and Green Lantern might look like. I like their ideas. Although these writers are highly respected in the industry I don't think Marvel and DC will do it. I hope I'm wrong.

Top Model Adrianne Curry Enjoys "Butt-Naked" World of Warcraft?

I just found this particular post from G4TV. I'm not sure if this true or not and I don't condone non-medical drug use of any kind but it goes to show how people need to be more careful about what they post on Twitter. The post reads:

Ordinarily, I wouldn't post accusations of drug use (or World of Warcraft use) on our website, but in this case I'm making an exception, because Curry herself* said she was stoned! Over the weekend Curry tweeted:
"jumping into shower.going to spend my afternoon playing World Of Warcraft butt naked&stoned.Perfect Sunday!"
So remember, next time you're riding through Azeroth, and some noob is spamming "LFG!" in the public channel, it could be Adrianne Curry. Here are her characters, stalker.
*The truthfulness of this information hinges on whether this is actually Curry's twitter feed and not some clever impostor's hack.

My only question is: Does Tyra Banks know this is how Adrianne spends her weekends?

Who Knew Twitter Was Useful?

I just read an article from G4TV's blog and it contains a new interesting use for Google Maps and Twitter.

Outbreak 2.0: Tracking Swine Flu Through Google Maps And Twitter

Outbreak 2.0: Tracking Swine Flu Through Google Maps And Twitter

Can't get enough swine-flu excitement? Who can?!? Thankfully the Internet has evolved to the point where everyone can track their favorite diseases and outbreaks like never before. First up is a Google Map that pinpoints every reported case of swine flu around the world. From Mexico to America to Spain to New Zealand, you can follow swine flu victims across the globe.

Speaking of follow, your day isn't complete unless you've received Twitter updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Busting out emergency updates one tweet at a time, CDC's Twitter page gives you up-to-the-second information on the latest swine flu conference calls, respirator suggestions, and recommended antiviral drugs.

Now if I may be serious for a moment (channeling Lance Storm), it's pretty amazing that the Internet has evolved to the point where millions of people can easily get updates on a disease outbreak. While some will check out the information simply because it's there (Wikipedia syndrome?), others will use it to keep their family and friends safer. It's truly amazing.
