Black Panther Animated Series S01 E06

Here is the 6th and last episode of Season 1. The story arc ends with a bang. The Big difference with here and in the original source material is that Storm appears and helps defend Wakanda. I liked how it went. Also I think that if there really was a way to reanimate dead US soldiers as zombie cyborgs I think our government pre-Obama would do it. As well I would not put it past certain people in our government from trying to use a border dispute to inv...er occupy a foreign nation. Why not? We've done it before. This story is great and it leaves it open for more. I sure hope more are done!

Black Panther Animated Series S01 E05 | Free Animation Videos - Watch Animation Videos Online | Veoh

Here is episode 5 of Black Panther Animated Series. It has some great points. With Klaw leading Batroc, Juggernaut, the Black Knight, and rival nation's army against Wakanda, T'Challa's sister trapped in the mines with Radioactive Man who can use his power to destroy Wakanda by destroying the Vibranium deposits - Black Panther has his hands full. His reaction - "I'm happy....all my enemies are in one place!" The other things is that we see that America makes plans to inva....help Wakanda with re-animated dead US Soldiers. Like the man said "Bodies are the one thing we have plenty of!" Another way that the series deviates from the comic a little is having Storm play a role in the conflict explained by Juggernaut's presence in Wakanda. The series just keeps getting better and better. You can see the last part - Part Six - tomorrow

This is the 4th episode of the Black Panther Animated Series. There series heat up when Klaw makes his move against Black Panther and Wakanda. I really liked this one. It really heightens the excuse. I mean can one man and his nation really fight a war for their sovereignty and independence not to mention lives on three fronts?! It's fun watching it play out! Look for

Black Panther Cartoon: Episode 1 [Full 20 Min] Video

I have recently found episodes of the Black Panther Animated series on vodpod. Since I've been frustrated by the episodes being pulled from YouTube, I've decided to use the videos posted there and write some reviews. Feel free to watch the first episode before my comments.

I really like the first episode. It follows the first issue of Reginald Hudlin's comic book run. IT frames who Black Panther is and why we should care about him. My favorite part of the episode was watching Captain America get his ....um....shield handed to him! I love John Romita Jr's artwork a great deal. The animated series brings the comic book to life. It start off telling how T'Challa inherits the roles and responsibilities of being the Black Panther. The other best thing about this is how Hudlin writes this story in such a way that profound political commentary come out. Points that I agree with about colonialism and American Foreign policy clearly comes into play. I ju st love the idea of a small country in Africa looking down it's nose at Western Civilization. Love IT! I wish there was a real nation such as Wakanda - technologically advanced, never ever been conquered or beaten in its long history, rich, self-sufficient, and does not  bother any other nation. I love the dialogue and the pace of the story.

Demonoid.com - Black Panther (Animated Series) - S01 E03 (HQ - widescreen)

I'm sad that the first 2 episodes of Black Panther has been pulled from YouTube. TEAR! Fortunately, you can still download them as torrent. The third episode is available as a torrent at the link below Curiously the videos were pulled from YouTube by Marvel. I still want to know why Marvel and BET have not made it easy for American fans to get this series.

ghettoManga: Black Panther Cartoon Debuts! (sorta...)

In the wake of  the reveal Black Panther: The Animated Series I am grateful for the information provided by Samax over at ghettoManga. He, myself, and others are wondering why would such an important series be revealed in Australia and not here?!!! IT makes no sense to me. I'll be joining him scouring the internet. I sure hope someone posts it on YouTube. Samax has revealed more information about the series than anywhere else I have seen! He even managed to post an interview with Reginald Hudlin from last year's Comic Con. I also learned that Hudlin is no longer an executive at  BET. This could explain why we haven't heard much about the series since 2008. Hudlin is extremely talented and the animated series is based on his initial story arc in the comic book series - which I loved. This guy knows the character. I wanna know what's going on. If someone does find the series, please announce it. Tweet it, Post it, FaceBook it, Blog it...something! Here is the Hudlin interview

TJ Holmes is Doing Some Voice Work!

Mr Holmes, is taking a break from CNN to do a main character in an animated film produced by African-Americans that will eventually be airing on BET!

[TJ] "'plays Lusafo, the leader of a group of village bullies. Lusafo is 'shaking down' Kasha, 'an amaZulu boy who was sold into slavery in Ottoman Egypt and has returned to the land of this birth.'"

Wow, Holmes is playing the bad guy. Here is rough-cut footage from the film. I think I will have to see this one.

BET Animation - Hannibal

As I posted earlier, BET is going to be releasing an animated series on the life of Hannibal. I don't what which is the biggest shame: when you sat "Hannibal" either Silence of the Lambs or A-Team come to mind or the fact so few people recognize the real Hannibal as being a black man. When I learned about him in school it was never mentioned that he was black. Yes, we go that he was a great general. He had the Romans shaking in their togas. He won every single battle he waged against Rome except the last one - which cost Carthage the war. I learned how Rome thought itself impregnable because of the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps. They thought that there was no way that their rival Carthage could ever attack Rome directly. Hannibal did the impossible. He marched his army, including elephants, over and through the Alps and attacked Rome directly! The Romans were shocked to say the least. I always knew it would make a great movie. Just like the Battle of Thermopylae made a great movie (300). You look at the two stories and you see many similarities. Huge drama that no one could just make up. Period pieces from over 2000 years ago. Despite all of western civilization hanging in the balance, precious few people had heard of the stories.

So why has the story of Leonidas been made into a couple of movies and we are largely silent about Hannibal? Because Hannibal was black. We don't want to give any young black people any ideas that they can change the world and take a stand do we? Perish the thought. We must not let them know that black history does not begin with slavery and that there have always been black people that do important things. I think that this is why it's near impossible for Vin Diesel to get this story made into the big-budget epic it deserves to be. Here is a painting of Hannibal's army crossing the Alps on the right.

BET Animation - New Deal

I really, really regret not having been at Comic Con New York and Comic Con San Diego . Why? Because Reginald Hudlin and Denys Cowan were there and they put on a great panel. Too much goodness to be shared in a single post so I will release information as I find it. My first clue that I had missed something is the info that Black Panther is not the only animated projects BET is going to release. They are going to work with Vin Diesel on a series based on the life of Hannibal of Carthage who was one of the greatest soldier and leaders who ever lived. Quiet as its kept: He was a black man from Carthage who fought Rome during the Punic Wars. And third BET is working with Will Smith on a series called Cipha. NewsARama.com has an interview you can use to get more information.

You can read a report on the panel at the New York convention and on the San Diego Convention.

BET showed two shorts at both conventions. They are hard-hitting and animated. The first one is called Read A Book! In which people are admonished in a rap song to read, drink water, take care of their children, buy land. There are two versions...one with profanity and one with out. If I can find the clean one, I'll post it. If you want to hear all the profanity, you can find that version on YouTube.

The other short is called Bid 'Em In which is about how black people were enslaved and auctioned off like cattle.
