Extended 'Supernatural: The Animation' Trailer Goes Behind-the-Scenes - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

Supernatural is going to be a great series. My only question is: Why can't it be released world-wide everywhere in all languages - at least in English and Japanese.

Ten Things Fred Phelps Will Probably Hate at Comic-Con - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

Personally, I don't like Fred Phelps. I think he makes all Christians look bad. I didn't even realize that people held protest at Comic-Con. The people who support Phelp's "ministry" make me wonder: Have they ever read the Bible? Do they know who God is and what He says He loves and hates? Sad.

Summer Glau, Kevin Conroy, and Tim Daly Voicing 'Superman/Batman: Apocalypse' - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

I was wondering what the next DC Comics Animated movie will be.

Cover artwork has debuted for "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse," the latest entry in the DC Universe Animated series, joining the ranks of projects such as "Batman: Gotham Knight," "Superman: Doomsday" and "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies." Featuring a bonus "Green Arrow" short, "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse" is expected to hit Blu-ray and DVD on September 28, 2010. Pre-order details are currently unavailable.
This will be a great. I can't wait. I didn't read the original story but I can't wait to see what it looks like animated.

I'm really waiting for this one - dropping in a few weeks.  All of DC animated movies that has been released have been awesome. This one won't be any different in that sense.  Comics Alliance has post some more great information!

Superman To Walk Across America in 'Grounded' by J. Michael Straczynski - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

J. Michael Straczynski was interviewed by Comics Alliance regarding his upcoming Superman stories. Let me be clear: J. Michael Straczynski is a writing genius. I love everything I have ever read or seen that he has been involved in. The idea of putting Superman on the ground, interacting with everyday folks across America. The idea of reconnecting with people will allow us to really examine the character. I think I'm gonna have to start reading Superman again. I love the idea of the other work he discussed in the interview: "Earth One"

MS: The hardcover is a vastly different story. It's about Clark first coming to Metropolis, before Superman had been revealed to the world, where he's trying to figure out what he wants to do with his life. Fact is, if he chooses not to reveal himself, he can be anything he wants: the best baseball player in the world, the best scientist, whatever he wants, the world is his...IF he keeps his abilities a secret. So the story is about that Gethsemene moment when he has to choose to either reveal himself, and give over a large part of his life forever more, or turn his back on his adopted world. This is the pivot-point in his history. The common cliche is that anytime someone gets powers, they automatically become a hero or a villain. But at some point, we all have to choose what we want to do with our lives, and this is Clark's moment of truth.

This is why J. Michael Straczynski is a genius. Of course it also points to the idea of Superman being based on the messianic archetype. I'd like to explore this more and I think J. Michael Straczynski's Grounded storyline would be a great backdrop.

Screen Test for Live Action 'Blue Beetle' Leaves Us Psyched for San Diego - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

I already heard that there will be a live-action Blue Beatle series in the works. There have a been a few still images from from a CGI treatment for how the character might look. Here are the stills and a few seconds worth of the demo at the end of the post (look at about the 20 second mark). The full demo has been promised to be revealed next month during ComicCon 2010.
