Kevin Feige has told HitFix that the rumors of Edward Norton being replaced in the upcoming Avengers movie are true. It has been doing the rounds on the web for a few days now that Norton would not play HULK in Avengers despite his eagerness to do so. Kevin Feige tells hitfix;
We have made the decision to not bring Ed Norton back to portray the title role of Bruce Banner in the Avengers. Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members.
The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert, Chris H, Chris E, Sam, Scarlett, and all of our talented casts. We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks."So basically they want a cheaper actor who is hungry for the work and will do as he is told?
Let me just say that I think Feige and Marvel is making a major mistake. Feige said they wanted "an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members." There doesn't seem to be an explanation for how Edward Norton is not that kind of actor. I agree with the assessment they want an actor who will work for less money and do as he is told. I'm saddened that is how Marvel is doing business. Add Edward Norton to Terrence Howard on the list of screwed over people by greed.
