The first picture of some of the cast for
X-Men: First Class was released today
In an apparent effort to toy with the collective comics/movie blogosphere, MSN Entertainment posted and pulled a pretty dubious image depicting the cast of X-Men: First Class earlier today. Now, thanks to internet immortality, you can still see Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), January Jones (Emma Frost), Jason Flemyng (Azazel), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Lucas Till (Havok), Zoe Kravitz (Angel), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), and James McAvoy (Charles Xavier) standing in dramatic, possibly fake poses from left to right. Forget class, these muties look like they're ready for the dance! Its theme? Enchantment Under the Darkness.
As pointed out by Spinoff, cast members Kevin Bacon (Sebastian Shaw), Edi Gathegi (Darwin), Oliver Platt (the Man in Black), and Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee) didn't make it into the group shot. Perhaps they had early sports practice? Or maybe they overslept and missed the school bus. Picture Day sneaks up on you like that.
The movie is out June 3, and will probably not include an actual school dance scene, let alone one as awesome as the one in Back to the Future.
My comment: Where is Cyclops!!!!? Why is Mystique there? And why is Angel a girl? And why didn't they just stick to the original 5 X-Men? Oops! I think this movie just might suck.
