Just when I thought that the world could not just be any screwed up, I find out that I was wrong. Another clues came with the following article.
Sure, if you have a question regarding “how are babbys formed,” definitely go to Yahoo answers. And if you think that swallowing after a blowjob will make you pregnant, then let the guys on Reddit set you straight. But there are real life scenarios where you should probably consult a professional instead of the anononymity of the ‘net for your sexual queries.
Case in point: The young girl from St. Paul, Minnesota who awoke in her house with her mother’s boyfriend standing over her naked. After escaping his attempts at molestation, the girl locked her door, put a dresser in front of it, and…went on Facebook to look for help? Now, this isn’t a judgment of the young girl who was obviously frightened and went to a source of community where she obviously felt comfortable, but we as a society might want to take a good hard look at ourselves if we can’t even remember to teach kids how to dial 9-1-1 on their iPhones before logging on to a social networking site to report a rape. Luckily, the girl was able to get in contact with her mother (who was away for the evening) and the two of them called the police.
Now again, this story has a positive ending, but the message here isn’t “Facebook saves girl from getting raped,” as the ABC news WCCO affiliate poses. It should be “Don’t leave your daughter home alone with your pedo ex-boyfriend, then not be available by cell phone for the rest of the night.” Jesus, people.
