ghettoManga: Because real Ninjas read Maxim...

I liked this very humorous post by Samax. I totally agree with him about the importance and coolness of ninjas. However children halloween costumes, whether they be ninjas or some things else are almost always less than authentic! I think this is why I found this critique so funny!

Duct Tape Batman Mask Makes Caped Crusading Cheap and Flashy - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

Halloween is upon us. Comics Alliance has posted a great article on making Batman's cowl out of duct tape! And it actually looks spiffy. The article also includes a link to a website that gives instructions on how to make it!

Secret Invasion - Black Panther

Someone has taken the Black Panther chapters of Secret Invasion and made a motion comic. IT obviously shows why it is a bad idea to mess with Wakanda.

ComicsAlliance vs. The Hilariously Terrible 'Tomb of Dracula' Anime - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

Comics Alliance has posted a great article giving a running commentary on an Anime movie from 1980
Little did I know that that already happened in Japan, thanks to a hilariously terrible feature-length anime special from 1980 called Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned, which largely centered around Dracula stealing the girlfriend of the actual Devil and trying to keep Satan himself from getting laid. Like so many things in the 21st century, the entire film has made its way to Youtube in six parts, and as part of ComicsAlliance's Halloween celebrations, I'm watching the whole darn thing and writing up my own running commentary to see just how bad it gets!
You can follow the link to read the comments and watch the movie below:

99 Problems But a Cape Ain't One: Conservatives Attack Islamic Superheroes - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

Comic Alliance has posted a great article about the backlash against the 99 franchise. The 99 are a multi-ethnic team of SuperHeroes who draw their powers from the 99 attributes of Allah. I think that people should think about these characters and what they represent but I think censoring them so that Children aren't exposed to Islam is stupid. What is the difference between the 99 and Marvel Comics' Thor? Thor was a god of Norse mythology and there is a day of the week named after him. Can you get any more religious than that? The difference is that there are few, if any, people worshiping Thor while they are about a billion worshipers of Allah. However as a Christian, I'm not worried about my children being exposed to the Norse Religion or Islam because Christianity can stand up to scrutiny and investigation - no problem.

Disney Takes 'Iron Man' and 'The Avengers' Movie Away from Paramount - ComicsAlliance | Comics culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

I must say that I appreciate Comics Alliance a great deal. In this article they discuss what I really want to know how does Disney taking the rights to distribute Avengers and Iron Man 3 away from paramount really mean, and uh...how did Disney pull that off considering that Paramount had the rights? Answer: Disney paid $115 million! Pocket change for Disney, yet quite a bit money for anyone else. I saw Marvel.com's article about the deal...it was very Politically correct - given that Disney owns Marvel Comics - but the Comics Alliance piece did ask the question I wanted to know: "Does it make sense for Disney to go after distribution rights for X-Men and Spider-man? The article suggests probably not, but I hope they do because I would love to see a movie with Spider-man, Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men in a single movie someday - even if it was animated. Maybe something like the "Civil War" storyline.
