McCain Spokesman Mike Goldfarb Gets Owned by CNN's Rick Sanchez

You have got to see this. I can't believe how dramatic the "news" has become. I was glad to see a journalist call the person he is interviewing to the carpet. People who talk in public should be held accountable for whatever they say!

It was later reported by this same reporter that Mike Goldfarb was insinuating that Rev Jeremiah Wright is an anti-semite like Rashid Khalidi. CNN also said that they checked with the Anti-Defamation League and the League said that they do not, nor have they ever, counted Wright as an anti-semite.

A Great Editorial from G4

One of my favorite television is G4. They give great information on Video games, movies, television, comic books, and technology. Here is an article they just put on their website.

Sessler's Soapbox: Game Journalism Exclusives, "New Yorker" @$$holes
Posted by Patrick Roche-Sowa - Wednesday, October 29, 2008 4:40 PM

In case you missed it, the New Yorker recently posted an article online profiling Cliff Bleszinski and his upcoming game, Gears of War 2. Go ahead and do your homework, Adam will make more sense if you're well versed in the subject matter.

Now that you took some time with a respected publication, listen to what Adam has to say about the subject. When mainstream journalism takes a close look at the gaming industry, the outcome is usually hit or miss. This time, Adam thinks it was a miss. Not only do they talk down to gamers, but they also scoff at the idea that gaming journalism outlets depend on secrets and exclusives. Because, you know, the mainstream media has never engaged in backroom agreements, timed exclusives, and previously arranged interview parameters. Adam mad. Adam smash.

I agree with Adam Sessler's conclusions but i wouldn't get as angry as he did. He ripped the New Yorker apart.

A little late but a good one

While I was on YouTube looking for Obama's Infomercial, I found a video made recording a fighting game they found on the internet. It's Obama and Hillary Clinton duking it out in an animated street fight. It's well done. I realize the primaries are well over but it's still a kick (pun intended). The website is miniclip.com and has more up-to-date flash games. Unfortunately I did not see a street fight game with Obama and McCain. Sounds like something that should be done in Mugen. (see my mugen posts).

Regime Change

I have decided that single blog does not fit all my interests. I have decided to split things up a bit so that I can better structure my thoughts. This will continue to be my main blog, containing news, articles, videos, movie and television reviews, and such that I find interesting. However because I come across widgets and gadgets I like, as well as graphical user interface stuff I wanna test and new technologies , I will be posting those in a separate blog called: Favorite Gadgets. And thing like fictional character art and profiles, my Mugen and video game projects, and articles will be in my blog called: Favorite Fiction. (Which doesn't have anything on it yet. I may move articles from the Main blog, but I haven't decided yet.) Thanks for your support and reading my blog!

Heroes Season 3: Episode 7

This weeks episode of Heroes was even better than last week's. I was wondering how they were going to top it and they did. This week's episode is called "ERIS QUOD SUM". It is Latin and means "you will be what I am". The title fits. In some ways the current generation is bucking against their parents. Claire, Peter, Nathan, Matt, Elle, Hiro, and Sylar are all trying to make sense out of what their parents did and wants them to do. This episode had a lot of huge things happen. Here is the rundown of things that stuck me.

1. I'm still wondering what Arthur's plans are. He is immensely powerful, ruthless, and manipulative. It's funny how people can rationalize almost anything and yet not see themselves as evil.
2. I was amazed to see that Daphne was faking her defection from Pinehurst. Considering the way Arthur killed Matt Parkman's dad with nothing more than a gesture (because he stole Peter's powers) makes me wonder just what he has on Daphne
3. Was Arthur telling Sylar the truth about Angela, that he was sent away because Angela tried to drown him when he was a baby? Arthur and Angela are horrible the way they set their sons against each other
4. When Peter told Nathan that their father Arthur is still alive, it made me wonder if Nathan knew that Sylar is his brother?
5. With Matt's father dead, does that mean no more scenes with Lindermann? I would assume so.
6. I want Peter to get his powers back.
7. I thought it was cool how Sylar helped Peter escape Pinehurst...painful...but effective.
8. We weren't let in on yet what Matt and Daphne will do next. Of course, Matt wants to take down the man who murdered his father.
9. I enjoyed the Elle and Claire subplot. They started to see how similar they really are. Elle is not as strong as Claire. She is so selfish as to her own interests she did not think about what someone who throws Peter out of a seven story window would do to her.
10. I think Suresh's story arc is a little uneven. He almost seemed his regular self. But it didn't seem consistent with what's gone on before.
11. Maya is cured....but I'm not sure I believe anything Arthur Petrelli says.
12. Nathan and Peter don't like their dad...even before he took Peter's powers.
13. Sylar seems to be playing along with Arthur. Going to be hard because Arthur does have Peter's power to read minds.
14. The only other plot contrivance I'm having problems with is Hiro's and Ando's arc. Why should Hiro be scared to go backwards in time. I think it could be argued that had he not gone back to 14th Century Japan and fulfilled Kensei's role the present would have been messed up.
15. I'm looking forward to the next episode (in 2 weeks! I'm not happy about that). It looks like we will learn how Arthur Petrelli got to this point.

Here is the promo for "ERIS QUOD SUM"

Defending Michelle Obama

It is a shame that such an article is even needed. I thank God for the post by the Black Snob she posted today. Read her article. I thought it was well done and extremely accurate. Some of the insults and criticisms again Mrs. Obama has been awful. She isn't running for President. While I''m sure she is going to supporting Barak, giving him some advice (she is just as educated and intelligent as he is; and more than some if not most of her detractors), Michelle will not be the decision maker and breaker.

Cartoons and Politics

I have been recently following the blog of the name "The Black Snob". Today there were couple of political cartoons posted there today. Of course i nearly feel off onto the floor laughing. I thought they were well-done and say somethings about Palin and McCain I agree with. One of these cartoons was an interactive flash movie. It got me to thinking though: Was anyone offended? I remember how taken-a-back so many of us was when the New Yorker ran a political cartoon a few months ago depicting Barak as a Muslim and his wife Michelle as a stereotypical angry black revolutionary. Remember? If you don't I'm posting both cartoons side-by-side. Let's look at them objectively. The cartoon from the Black Snob blog was drawn by
Zina Saunders' from her Drawger gallery of political art and the one about the Obamas from the New Yorker are below.
I was offended by the New Yorker cartoon because it says things about the Obamas that are inflammatory and untrue, setting aside the fact that the cartoon was supposed to be mocking people's fears by showing how untrue they are...something that was lost on some people. Does the McCain and Palin cartoons do the same thing? I don't think so. I really do see the Republican ticket as children playing house...all the while asserting maturity and knowledge of how the world works. Failed economic and foreign policies stay failures until they are changed and I don't see the Republican ticket making any significant changes other than what the current administration is currently doing. Here is the link to the page imagining what a Sarah Palin Presidency may be like (also from the Black Snob blog).

IT Project - Inventory Compiling: Selecting Plots

In my chosen career I write software. I work for General Dynamic and I am contracted to the US Forest Service. I basically write software that analyzes data and generate reports on plants and trees in California's 18 national forests. One program I just finished recently is a draft that allows a user to select forest data by plot.A plot is segment of land on which data is recorded and then loaded into an oracle database. When I finished the program I wrote a draft of a users guide and have begun looking at various ways of delivering that users guide. I turned the document into a PDF file and loaded it into the ISSUU website to get the following document. Check it out.

Hulk Vs

In January 2009, Marvel is going to release 2 short films on a single
DVD. I'm really excited because one will be Hulk vs Thor and the other
is Hulk vs Wolverine. Don't get me wrong I understand what they are
doing: generate and maintain interest of folks for the Wolverine movie
in 2009 and Thor in 2010 or 2011. I admit that I love to read the comics
when the Hulk would be taking on either one of these other characters.
Each will be a tough fight and it is hard to say who will come out on
top considering neither combatant is a true evil villain. Usually when they fight its usually because of a misunderstanding. It should be fun.

Iron Man 2 - War Machine!

Well some concept art for the new War Machine armor featured in Iron Man 2 has been released! I got it from ReelComix.com and I admit I think it is exciting. They are in pre-production now with filming scheduled to begin in March for a 2010 release. I love the character and would prefer Terrence Howard to remain the actor bringing James Rhodes to life. Hopefully they'll have this casting fiasco worked out before March. Hang in there Terrence.

A Non-response to Terrence Howard

I read on ReelComix.com that MTV finally has been able to get close to an executive at Marvel productions to get a statement on Terrence Howard being ousted.

MTV caught up with a Marvel exec to try and get him to address the rumors of the re-casting of Terrence Howard and they got a very typical wishy washy answer that says pretty much yes. Why? Because it doesn't say NO which is what they would say if they wanted to keep Terrence involved and happy. MTV quotes the exec;

That [‘Hollywood Reporter’ story] was not an announcement. That was, as it tends to happen in the business, is rumors and leaks and things like that. I do think there will be clarity soon.”

It might be a rumor but considering Terrence Howard pretty much confirmed it... no need in beating around the bush.

Yes, I think it's a bad answer and doesn't answer anything. It sounds like they may be changing their idea! I hope so. I love Iron man, I'll probably go see the sequel regardless who is playing Rhodes. My wife has already said she was going to boycott if Terrence Howard is not in it.

Politics in Comics

Marvel has just made an announcement that they will be re-launching the Black Panther comic book series next February. The kicker is that the current Black Panther is going to be replaced by a woman! At this point they are not going to release any information about what happens to cause the change or who the new character is beneath that mask. The writer, Reginald Hudlin, and Marvel Editor-in-chief, Joe Quesada, say the want to shake things up and get back to the diversity the Panther symbolizes being the first black superhero in print. Personally, I think that they are trying to pull a John McCain: pick a pretty woman to placate feminist and make people think that they are being open-minded and inclusive. I will probably give the change a chance, but Black Panther is a black African man, if he is replaced by a white woman I will be greatly offended. He is always pointed to by Marvel so they can say that they can say we had the first black superhero.

Heroes Season 3: Episode 6

The sixth episode was amazing. It's called "Dying in the Light". It ended a couple of subplots and started new ones. Here is the list of goodies:

1. We finally got to see what kind of powers Arthur Pertrelli has: absorbing powers and lifeforce of others just by touching them.
2. Hiro did not kill Ando....good news...only tricked Daphne and Knox into thinking that he killed Ando.
3. Sylar has self-control and is trying to be good.
4. Daphne is having second thoughts about whose side is she on.
5. What does Arthur Petrelli have on Daphne that she can't leave?
6. How are Nathan and Tracy going to stop Suresh?
7. I was shocked when Arthur absorbed Peter's powers. Did he also absorbed the hunger that comes with Sylar's powers?
8. Does Arthur know about Sylar?
9. I don't really understand why Nathan would want to get rid of his powers.
10. I really wanna know what Hiro and Ando will do now.
11. I thought it was really cool how Claire was able to spring her mothers from that psychopath.
12. Why is Arthur recruiting all of those people with powers?
13. How did Arthur reach this point?
14. What is Matt going to do when he finds out how far Suresh has slipped into evil?
15. Are Suresh' s victim's dead? What is his plan?
16. It was a nice short battle between Peter and Sylar. I wish Sylar had gone with Peter then maybe he would not have been captured.
17. I wonder just how far do Arthur's abilities go? Are the effects transferable? Temporary? Permanent? What?
18. With Adam Monroe's abilities, could he survice Arthur's powers?

Lots of questions. I look forward to seeing the answers. I love the tagline they are using now on the episodes:

You can't choose your family, but you can choose a side.

Terrence Howard: Unfairly Fired

A couple of days ago I heard that Terrence Howard is being replaced in Iron Man 2. The rumor was that he was let go over financial disputes. However today on ReelComix.com it was reported that Terrence Howard found out about his job loss after it was publicly announced that he was being replaced. This is what Mr. Howard has reportedly said:

“It was the surprise of a lifetime,” he said. “There was no explanation. [The contract] just…up and vanished. I read something in the trades implicating that it was about money or something, but apparently the contracts that we write and sign aren’t worth the paper that they’re printed on, sometimes. Promises aren’t kept, and good faith negotiations aren’t always held up.”

I admit to being profoundly disappointed with Marvel for this move. It's wrong to fire someone who everyone admit was doing a great job without an explanation. I think Terrence Howard should sue them. Unfortunately, when it comes right down to the truth, it doesn't matter if you are an academy award nominated actor (he should have won) or not, a black person still has to deal with unfair treatment sometimes. I often wonder if Obama becoming President will change any of that. Nah!

New Spider-Man Video

I may have stated before but Spider-man is my all-time favorite fictional character ever! On October 21st the latest video game will be released and it looks as if it may be the best game based on the character period! Over the past 8-9 years there have been many great Spider-man games. Putting the player in his shoes and giving you an idea of what it might be like to be able to do the kinds of things Spider-man can do. This game offers something new that I can't wait to try: fighting along the side of the building as if it's the ground. This game makes it a point to fight on the ground and in the air while you try to stop an alien invasion.

A Desperate Attack on Obama

There is a guy in Pennsylvania so desperate to keep Obama from becoming President of the US that he has found a legal loop hole. He contends that there is no proof that Obama is a natural born United State citizen!!!! When I heard about this I was like "WHAT?!!!" Since then I was able to confirm that this is indeed happening....complete with reasoned arguments as to why we should question Obama's leadership. In my opinion the reasoning sounds desperate and down-right like straw grasping. It stinks of a "I-cannot-find-anything-else-so-will-go-with-this-because-there-are-people-enough-to-buy-it" mentality. Don't believe me...look at the video yourself:

There are several things that I think makes this a stupid idea. One of the main things is that if this really did hold any weight why isn't McCain using it? Why hasn't FOX News used it? I mean they report on the dumbest and inflammatory anti-Obama reports. This one is a doozy. If it is true that Obama is not a natural-born American citizen then he cannot be President. Case Closed! However all that is needed to prove either side right is to produce Obama's birth certificate. I do not think for a second that there is a reason for believing this hype. Do hear that? That's the sound of white people shaking in their boots.

Punisher War Zone

I have been following the new Punisher movie that is supposed to be released in December. As far as comic book movies go, it is up for some stiff competition with The Spirit being released the same month. I'm planning to see both, but i really think The Spirit will be better because it's got Frank Miller directing it. This is actually the 3rd Punisher movie. One from the early 90's and one released in 2004 with Thomas Jane in the title role. I try to forget the one from the 90's because that was a couple of hours i really wish I could get back. I really liked the 2004 version. I hope this version of Punisher is also great. ReelComix.com has posted the following clip.

Decision Time!

Barak Obama has been accused of being a "socialist" because he wants to "spread the wealth around". We all need to realize that we can't have things both ways when it comes to everyone being taking care of or having capitalistic free market. We seem to want have government out of our lives - spending, buying, and running our lives the way we see fit. However when we get mistreated or can't get what we think we deserve we tend to want the government to step in and protect us. We can't always have both. Where do you draw the line? If a white person does not want a black person living in the house next to him, where does his right to live in the neighborhood he wants ends and the black person's rights begin? Without government intervention, black people had no rights to live where they wanted or to vote or to go to school where they wanted. If we went the direction of "leave-it-alone" economics completely people will get left on the wayside. The concept of "pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps" is great. What do you do about the people who don't have shoes? How do they pull themselfs up? The question is: what kind of country do you want to be?

Terrence Howard will need to find another job

At first I did not believe it, but I have seen it confirmed from 3 sources: Terrence Howard will not be playing James Rhodes/War Machine in Iron Man 2. After I picked myself off the floor, I heard that he was let go because financial negotiations fell through. We know what that means: Howard asked for more money than Marvel and Paramount wanted to pay him. Who can blame him? Iron Man made over $500 million dollars. He may have asked for a salary comparablele to Robert Downey Jr's is what I think. I think he deserves it because James Rhodes is very popular in the comic books and one of my favorite characters whether he is standing on his own or supporting Iron man. Well that's the bad news. The good news is that he is being replaced by a great actor. Don Cheadle, whom I also like to watch. So I think that this may not be a bad thing for the movie after all but I will miss Howard because I was looking forward to seeing him in that role. I'm glad that Don will be filling the role too because had they picked a white actor I would have gone off. cry of "racism" would have been leveled for sure and brought to bear on the studios.

Heroes Season 3: Episode 5

Episode 5 of Heroes just aired and was named "Angels and Monsters". The episode fit the title to a tea. The episode was great so many reveals. A lot of information! My head is kind of swimming. I am wondering who are the real good guys and who are the bad guys. A hero is not someone who compromises his/her principals to achieve noble goals.

1. Hiro killed Ando to prove himself to Knox and Daphne
2. Peter has lost it. I hope Peter will come out of it.
3. Nathan and Peter's father, Arthur Petreli, is still alive seems to be the uber-villain pulling all the strings.
4. Is Arthur Petreli Sylar's Father? I mean remember in Season 2, Angela said that she used to be with Kaito. Who else has she been with?
5. Sylar and Claire and Maya and the "Worm-hole" guy were the most noble people in the episode. How will Claire watching her father willing to use and manipulate someone to kill Sylar affect how she sees her father? Noah Bennet has been the most villainous this episode then the whole season so far.
6. How do we know the Worm-hole boy's power kills people who are sucked into the vortex?
7. Nathan was not born with his powers? What!
8. Did they choose Nathan's powers? Or was it like Suresh said depended on his physiology?
9. Matt's Father, Maury Parkman, escaped the prison that Matt put him in. How?
10. When Matt's father was introduced as a villain it seemed that he was working for Adam, but maybe he was working for Arthur Petreli at that time too?
11. It was my understanding that Lindermann is really dead and what Nathan and Daphne were seeing was really Maury Parkman making them see him.
12. All those who find it creepy rooting for Sylar, raise your hands. I know I do find it creepy.
13. I can see why Meredith was worried about that guy who seemed to have her in his thrall. He was making her mimic his movements exactly. He has a very dangerous power. I think only Peter or Sylar could really stand up to him.
14. Suresh....has become a monster. I have no idea what he has become. I sure hope he snaps out of it.
15. Arthur is sending Daphne to recruit Matt and I can't wait to see what happens because we saw last week that Matt is looking for her because he saw that they are supposed to hook up and marry in the future.
16. What is Arthur's power? Angela seemed frightened of him. Why was he on that machine keeping him alive? Maury Parkman seemed to be able to talk to him and hear him and he entered Angela's dream.

Yes, Virginia, there is still Racism in 2008

Ok, While I would like to chalk up this video to pure and simple ignorance, I don't think I can. I mean given the man's age, he's gotta know that he is offending black people everywhere and does not care! The fact that I have never heard of any kind of denunciation from either McCain or Palin says to me that maybe they endorse this sentiment as long as it means this man votes for them!

The look on their faces reminds me of the photo above of a bunch of "good" white people at a "picnic" cheesing at the camera around a tree with 2 black men hanging from it. They are brutally beaten with the nooses still around their neck. The white guy in the front kinda look like Hitler. Look at the following video and see the parallel.

Iron Man DVD Easter Egg

I just read this over at ReelComix.com. Easter Eggs are hidden bonus content that is sometimes hidden on DVDs.

From our good friends at TheMovieBlog comes a really neat easter egg from the Iron Man DVD.
Pop the first disc into your DVD player and from the main menu, select ‘Special Features. Now highlight the words “‘Main Menu” at the bottom of the screen but don’t press the Enter button just yet. Instead, tap the Left arrow button on the DVD remote and a circle in the middle of the tuxedo jacket will become illuminated. Press Enter (or Select on some DVD remotes) and enjoy a humorous interview with Marvel’s Stan Lee and Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. having a good time on the red carpet. If you own the Blu-ray version, from the main menu scroll down to BD-LIVE and press the Right arrow on the Blu-ray remote. A schematic of Iron Man’s hand will appear. Now press Enter to see the clip. Iron Man is a truly fantastic movie and the dvd extras are as good as the movie. This puppy is a must buy. Thanks to MB for the scoop on the dvd extra.
I concur!!!! I'm going to try this as soon as I get a chance.

I really like it!! You can make and share your own content and have access to the magazines and book created by people from all over the world for free. Some of the content is very good! You can even post content from the site on your blog or website! You can even print pages that you want.

Now the bad news: This service is meant to be free and cannot be used in and of itself to generate income...not like the tool I shared in a previous post. And I can see no way to put video or audio into your publication. But If you just want to share some content that would have been deployed in a printed format on a global platform, Issuu is your tool.

I have an example I'd like to share. I did not make this but it led to me finding out about Issuu. I mentioned that I attended Wondercon earlier this year. The organization behind it, called ComicCon, publishes a magazine and in it's latest issue they summarize the event I attended. I had a great time.

By the way, you can click on it to open another larger window so it's easier to read!

A Kinder Gentler McCain?

Yesterday, McCain tried to put the genie back in the bottle. After weeks of some of the meanest political mudslinging I have seen against anyone leveled at Barak Obama, McCain was booed at his own rally when he made positive remarks about Obama. What would you expect after weeks of poisoning people's minds against Obama? As a whole the human race is not very bright. Jesus said that we are like "sheep without a shepherd" (myself included). After several weeks of telling people what a boogie man he is and that we should be afraid of him, there are going to be some people who will believe it. People who already don't trust black people. Some people who are reasonable intelligent may believe the hype. Here is a video clip from YouTube from that speech yesterday:

Did you get a load of that woman at the end who said that she has researched Obama and then said that he was an "Arab". That was the reason she doesn't trust him. Obama's father was not from from Saudi Arabia or from any Middle Eastern nation! Anyone who has done the miniumum of research knows that. There is real anger being directed to Obama by some McCain supporters. I think they are really afraid that Obama may win. Some people are getting nasty and calling Obama a socialist. Check out a video from October 9, 2009:

I think its fear of Obama's race coming to the surface. It was okay when they thought that he had no real chance of winning the White House, but now it is too close to reality.

I don't even know how to title this one

I just heard that Fox News Ran a news story criticizing Newsweek for running a magazine cover featuring Sarah Palin in close-up without re-touching the photo. There were two female commentators going back and forth about whether or not this was an insult to Palin.

The assertion of it being insult was because you can see all the imperfections of her face. Imperfections that everyone has, but most of time are "photoshopped" out of the picture so that the portrait looks more flawless. At first I thought the accusation was groundless because I doubt that I would have noticed any of those things had I been looking at her in person. That I thought until the point about the headline for the article on the cover was brought up: "She's one of the folks (and that's the problem)."
This close to the election, such a statement is certainly trying to say something unflattering about Palin. And taken with the picture I can see how people could be offended. What do you think?

Mugen Character Development Part 1 - Black Panther

Disclaimer - I thought I would start posting the development process for making my first development character. If you are not interested in mugen or video games please feel free to ignore these.

Still here? OK, good. One of the first things you need to make mugen characters is what are called "sprites" the art of the characters. They are typically several pictures of the character is various poses and positions that can be animated together. This for me is the hardest part because I'm not much of an artist. Sometimes sprites are posted by people that can be used. I thought that I could use some of those to make my own characters and save the hard part of art later. Much of these completed sprite sets are of characters that are already complete. I have been thinking about what the Black Panther character should be able to do. The suits claws on his costume is made of vibranium so when he blocks he should be able to cancel out energy based attacks I'm thinking about a few special moves right now:

1. Double -strike Claw to his opponent - high
2. Double -strike Claw to his opponent - low
3. He runs up to his opponent and throws multiple combinations of punches and kicks for several seconds causing maximum damage.
4. He flips backwards over his opponent striking high with the claws
5. He flips forwards over his opponent striking high with the claws

As of yet. I have been able to find only one Black Panther sprite. It is pictured above and I found it at the Scrollboss website.

BET Animation - Hannibal

As I posted earlier, BET is going to be releasing an animated series on the life of Hannibal. I don't what which is the biggest shame: when you sat "Hannibal" either Silence of the Lambs or A-Team come to mind or the fact so few people recognize the real Hannibal as being a black man. When I learned about him in school it was never mentioned that he was black. Yes, we go that he was a great general. He had the Romans shaking in their togas. He won every single battle he waged against Rome except the last one - which cost Carthage the war. I learned how Rome thought itself impregnable because of the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps. They thought that there was no way that their rival Carthage could ever attack Rome directly. Hannibal did the impossible. He marched his army, including elephants, over and through the Alps and attacked Rome directly! The Romans were shocked to say the least. I always knew it would make a great movie. Just like the Battle of Thermopylae made a great movie (300). You look at the two stories and you see many similarities. Huge drama that no one could just make up. Period pieces from over 2000 years ago. Despite all of western civilization hanging in the balance, precious few people had heard of the stories.

So why has the story of Leonidas been made into a couple of movies and we are largely silent about Hannibal? Because Hannibal was black. We don't want to give any young black people any ideas that they can change the world and take a stand do we? Perish the thought. We must not let them know that black history does not begin with slavery and that there have always been black people that do important things. I think that this is why it's near impossible for Vin Diesel to get this story made into the big-budget epic it deserves to be. Here is a painting of Hannibal's army crossing the Alps on the right.

BET Animation - New Deal

I really, really regret not having been at Comic Con New York and Comic Con San Diego . Why? Because Reginald Hudlin and Denys Cowan were there and they put on a great panel. Too much goodness to be shared in a single post so I will release information as I find it. My first clue that I had missed something is the info that Black Panther is not the only animated projects BET is going to release. They are going to work with Vin Diesel on a series based on the life of Hannibal of Carthage who was one of the greatest soldier and leaders who ever lived. Quiet as its kept: He was a black man from Carthage who fought Rome during the Punic Wars. And third BET is working with Will Smith on a series called Cipha. NewsARama.com has an interview you can use to get more information.

You can read a report on the panel at the New York convention and on the San Diego Convention.

BET showed two shorts at both conventions. They are hard-hitting and animated. The first one is called Read A Book! In which people are admonished in a rap song to read, drink water, take care of their children, buy land. There are two versions...one with profanity and one with out. If I can find the clean one, I'll post it. If you want to hear all the profanity, you can find that version on YouTube.

The other short is called Bid 'Em In which is about how black people were enslaved and auctioned off like cattle.

Black Comic Creators - Hudlin & Cowan

A couple of months ago I made a post about BET producing and airing a Black Panther animated series. I also made a detailed post about Reginald Hudlin who is currently writing the comic book. What I didn't know at the time that Denys Cowan is the Senior Vice President of BET. He will be overseeing all of BET's animation projects. This is exciting because I have been following Cowan's work for years and have been a fan but i never knew that he is black until now ( I will be doing a researched post on him soon). He has been a comic book artist for year and now does a lot of producing. Comic Book Resources has been kind enough to post a video of an interview they had with Cowan and Hudlin. They talk about comic books and producing Black Panther. It's embedded below:

Oprah's Anti-Christ Agenda

I use Google's RSS feed reader to keep up-to-date on what the new videos on GodTube are. I found one called Oprah's Anti-Christ Agenda and it is very interesting. Take a look:

The video draws a link between Oprah's endorsing and teaching New Age Spirituality and the coming Anti-Christ. I liked the video. It contains a lot of truth. I'm not sure if I agree with all the conclusions. The fact is that Course in Miracles is lie. For every single quote the video uses to show how the Course contradicts the Bible there is a verse that says opposite what the Course says. No kidding! If the author of Course in Miracles is truly channeling a spirit its not Jesus. It has to be a demon because it flies in the face of what Jesus has already said. That part of the video is 100% true. I know because i have read the book it is a far-off as a 2 sided triangle! It's also could be true that Oprah is intending to get a high-level cabinet position if Obama wins. She has surely pumped so much influence and money into his campaign that he is going to owe her. In my opinion, a new cabinet position dedicated to peace is not going to be too much to ask for. Most people are not going to see a problem with that. If the video's producers are correct and the goal is to establish peace based on New Age Spirituality then we have more than a problem. There will be no real peace and it will provide the perfect climate for someone like the Anti-Christ to come up. I say this because it's happened before...in the the 1930's with the rise of Hitler and the Nazis. This would be profoundly worse because this would be at a global level given our economic situation and the speed at which we can now travel and communicate.

Let me be clear: I am not suggesting that Oprah is the Anti-Christ or is voluntarily and consciously laying the ground work for his emergence. I am merely saying that things look "fishy". I would not try to make as a strong connection between Oprah and the Ant-Christ because I truly do not know who he is or how he will come to power. I just see some of the signs. It is best that we put our trust in the only one who can save us - Jesus!

For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect—if that were possible. - Mark 13:22

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. - 1 John 2:18

Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son. - 1 John 2:22

but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. - 1 John 4:3

Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. - 2 John 1:7

Heroes Season 3 episode 4

Last night I saw the latest episode of Heroes. The title of the episode intrigued me: "I Have Become Death" But now I see why that title was picked. I have been reading other people's responses to the episode and I must say I was confused by other people saying that they did not understand Sylar's ability was to be able to understand how things function and fix them. I thought season one made it abundantly clear. Oh well.
Some things were made clear and more questions were raised. Here is a list of answers:

1. The formula that Hiro lost is half of a formula to give ordinary humans abilities
2. Mohinder got the formula wrong this is why he is mutating
3. Tracy, Nikki, and another character that we have not met yet were triplets, separated at birth, and genetically-engineered to be given abilities - by the company...which explains why Linderman says that he has been manipulating Nikki her whole life.
4. Matt marries Daphne (the speedster) and has a daughter
5. Sylar has a son in the future, and is a good father (who is the mother?)

Of course my questions out number answers:
1. In the four years that passed, how did all the characters become who they are?
a. How did Matt and Daphne hook up?
b. Why is Claire so mean?
2. How was Claire able to kill future Peter if he has her powers?
3. Obviously, Sylar survived the nuclear explosion, where is he? and because it's in the future, does it matter - the timeline probably will not turn out that way now?
4. Twice Peter heard that Sylar is his brother, has he processed that? Did future Peter know that. I think so.
5. Now that Peter also has the side-effects of Sylar's power, does that mean Peter is a villian now?
6. Who else has bio-engineered abilities?
7. Why did Angela Petrelli have Hiro and Ando dig up Adam? I think that was a bad idea.

Captain America Done Right

ReelComix.com is announcing great news: the upcoming Captain America movie has a plot! And even better its just like the comic book. I'm glad that today when film makers adapt comic books they tend to stick really close to the source material. It is the source material that make the characters iconic. If you don't stick to it you miss out on what makes the material awesome. This what every successful comic book movie had in common since Blade in 1998 like: all the Blade movies, all the Spider-man movies, Batman Begins, Dark Knight; and what was missing from Superman Returns. Here is what the synopsis for the movie is

Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth
in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in
Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of
his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy’s
earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity
to take part in a special experiment… Operation: Rebirth.

After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the ‘Super-Soldier Serum’ and bombarded by ‘vita-rays.’ Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and leader of the Avengers.

This is straight out of the comic book and why I love the character. If they stick to this story, combine it with good antagonists, special effects, great acting, and marketing they will have a hit!
